How we work together

Hi, I’m Daren.

Good work starts with
a good working relationship.

I bring the technology, design and marketing experience.
You bring the business you know inside out.
Together, we turn that into something that helps you grow.

Here’s what that looks like
Daren Taylor, founder of NovaFlip

The person you’ll actually work with.

I’ve spent over 30 years building software for businesses large and small, especially startups and founders. My work has ranged from mobile apps to web technology. During 20 years running my own consultancy, I was always working on my marketing. Over time, I became the person other business owners came to for advice.

In 2025, I wanted a change: to combine my technical and creative skills, work directly with small businesses and see the difference I could make. Marketing was the thread that brought it all together. Helping good businesses get found, turn interest into enquiries and win more of the work they want. That’s why I started NovaFlip.

The Local Start journey

Let’s build trust.
Then build from there.

Handing over your business and your money takes trust. I’d rather earn it through the work. Every offer starts with a free trial. Here’s how that works for Local Start.

First, a conversation

More of the work
you actually want.

We start with where you’d like to be in six to twelve months. Which jobs do you enjoy? Which are most profitable? Where would you like more customers?

There’s little point promoting work that drains your energy and leaves you with very little. We agree a direction, then work backwards from how the right customer would find and choose you.

Think like your next customer

  1. “Who can help me locally?”Google Search, Maps and local discovery
  2. “Are they right for the job?”Your website, your work, your reviews
  3. “Let’s have a conversation.”A clear, easy way to get in touch

The free trial · usually the first week

See the direction.
Before you pay.

You share photos of your work, your story and what makes you different. I bring those together into a website prototype, refining the look and feel of your brand where it helps.

This first version lets you see the direction and get a feel for working with me. It’s a working preview, with the full build still to come.

If you’re happy, we carry on.

Only then do I ask for the first payment. If it doesn’t feel right, you can walk away without paying.

A website that starts
a conversation.

Once you choose to continue, we develop the first full version. We bring together your face, your work, clear services and a simple next step to create more than an online brochure.

We also connect Speed to Lead. An enquiry triggers an SMS alert to you, so you know who needs a call. Customers who opt in receive one immediate confirmation text. Your personal response is what turns that first contact into a real conversation.

Get your Google profile in shape.

We tidy up your categories, services, business details and photos, and connect the profile to your new website. People should quickly understand what you do, where you work and why you’re worth contacting.

Make honest reviews easier.

I set up a simple way to invite customers to review completed work, including an app to select contacts from your phone after completing their jobs, where appropriate. Requests and polite reminders do the chasing, so you don’t have to.

We ask for honest feedback, whatever the rating. Reminders stop when the review link is tapped.

Every month, we build on it

Your latest work.
Your next opportunity.

Launch is the starting point. We keep looking for practical opportunities in the services and local areas you want to grow.

  1. 01 / FIND

    Find an opportunity.

I use local search analysis to spot gaps and promising areas, then agree what we should focus on next.

  2. 02 / CAPTURE

    Show the real work.

You send a few job photos, the area and what you did. I turn those details into useful website case studies.

  3. 03 / SHARE

    Put it to work.

Those stories also inform Google Business Profile posts, showing real services in the places you work.

  4. 04 / REFINE

    Learn and improve.

We review visibility and enquiries, then refine the next month’s focus around what’s helping your business.

Useful, local proof helps people picture you doing their job and gives search engines clearer information about your services and locations.

A real example · Tidy Jet Washing · Upper Tean

One job. More ways to be found and chosen.

This is what I mean by building on your work each month. Mike’s roof clean in Upper Tean became a detailed website story and a matching Google update. Each has a different job to do.

Website SEO

Helping your website appear in search.

The ordinary website results you see in Google.

Real experience, clearly explained.

I turn your photos and job details into useful case studies. Here, visitors can see the roof before, during and after, and hear Mike explain the work himself. This follows Google’s guidance on helpful, original content that demonstrates firsthand experience. [1]

The service and the place, made clear.

Descriptive titles and headings make the subject clear, as in “Roof clean in Tean”. Relevant photo captions and image descriptions give Google more context about the work shown. [2] [3]

A story people can find.

The case study is linked from Tidy’s case study collection. Those links help visitors explore the work and help Google discover the page. [4]

Maps SEO

Building your local presence.

Your business listing in Google Maps and the local business results in Search.

A profile that describes the real business.

As part of the wider system, I work through your categories, services and business details. Google says complete, accurate information helps it match your business to relevant local searches. [5]

Make honest reviews easier.

I set up requests after completed jobs. Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help local rankings. We invite honest feedback, whatever the rating, making it easier for customers to share their experience. [5] [6]

On Google Maps & Search · Customer confidence

Give people a reason to choose you.

The same job becomes a useful Google post with a real photo. Its “Learn more” button takes people straight to the full case study. This part helps people understand your work and take the next step when they find your profile. [7]

The Google guidance behind this approach

Checked 16 October 2026. The work above applies Google’s guidance to real job content and the services I offer. These are useful foundations; they don’t establish a ranking improvement for this particular job.

  1. Helpful content and firsthand experience
  2. Descriptive page titles
  3. Images, captions and image descriptions
  4. Links that help Google discover pages
  5. Local ranking: relevance, distance and prominence
  6. Requesting genuine customer reviews
  7. Business Profile posts and customer decisions

Captured 16 October 2026. The full website preview uses enlarged text, with the reviewer’s name removed. The Google post preview uses another real photo from the same job. Both link to the published originals.

Built around your working day

You run your business.
I’ll keep this moving.

I know you’re busy. My job is to take the marketing work off your plate, and make the bits I need from you as easy as possible.

Most of our everyday conversation can happen on WhatsApp. Send photos, a quick message or a voice note when you have a moment. When we need to talk something through properly, we arrange a Google Meet around your schedule.

I love seeing a business change for the better. My aim is to do work you value enough to recommend me to someone else.
