2. What SocialForge Does

SocialForge enables users to generate and publish content to their connected Instagram Business accounts via an authorised integration with Meta Platforms.

3. Personal Data We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register for or use SocialForge, we may collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Account login details
• Messages and enquiries you send directly to SocialForge via email or contact forms (for example, support requests)

3.2 Information Accessed via Meta / Instagram (With Your Authorisation)

When you connect your Instagram Business account to SocialForge, you authorise access through Meta’s permission system. SocialForge uses only the following permissions:

• instagram_basic
• instagram_content_publish

Based on these permissions, we may access and use:

• Your Instagram Business account ID
• Your Instagram username
• Basic profile information necessary to identify the connected Instagram Business account
• The ability to publish media content to your authorised Instagram Business account

We do not access:

• Instagram Direct Messages (DMs)
• Private messages or inbox data
• Follower lists
• Audience insights / analytics / performance metrics
• Any data not explicitly permitted under instagram_basic and instagram_content_publish

3.3 Automatically Collected Technical Data

We may collect limited technical information for security and operational purposes, such as IP address, browser type, device type, and basic service logs (for example, error logs).

4. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

• Provide and operate SocialForge services
• Publish content to your authorised Instagram Business account (only when you request or schedule publishing)
• Maintain and secure your SocialForge account
• Respond to support requests and enquiries
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

You can also remove SocialForge’s access at any time via Meta’s Business Integrations settings, which will revoke the permissions granted to SocialForge.
